Liking this N95-4 the 8 gig US version. Music transfer is slower then cold maple syrup running.

Yes, the built in Flash (on the N95-2) seems to be very slow.
Looks like it is the same on the N95-4. I also can't record video
to the flash, have to use the internal memory instead. Good that I
don't take a lot of videos anyway.
What resolution are you using to record the video? I use full
res and I don't think I've had any stuttering. If you are, it might
be worth dropping the res down.
Another thought - do you have anything else running that's
accessing the mass storage at the same time as you're recording
video? MP3 player, that sort of thing.
@jebbrilliant how
are you transfering music, with pc suite file explorer, media
player or that nokia pc suite music manger thing? I found all of
those slow but using mass storage mode it was 100% quicker. thats
on the N95-2
@mobilesociety mine
records video to flash fine. I did once notice a problem with video
set at the highest quality, every 10 or so seconds the video
stuttered as if it was recording quicker than it could save it. I
formatted the flash drive and it's been fine ever since.
It took me 85 secs to transfer 51MB, so about 0.6MBps. That's
the low end of expectations for USB Full Speed.
@JebBrilliant the
too many connections is caused, I think, by having different access
points defined. If your video streamer, web browser and IM all use
the same APN you'll be fine. As soon as, say, Google Maps tries to
use a different APN it will moan about having to close a
connection. Very annoying.
Tried recorded several videos - still not getting stutter. Could
it be a drive fragmentation issue??
@Steves71 I did not put
my phone into mass storage mode. I should have thought of that, how
do I put it in storage mode when doing a bluetooth transfer?
@jebbrilliant i dont
think you can if your doing it via bluetooth, that could explain
though why its so slow, bluetooth transfer is even slower than file
transfer using pc suite. Try is with a usb cable and when its
plugged in a menu option appears on the phone screen, select
storage mode and you should see a huge speed increase.

I also keep getting told I have to many connections open.

I've never used a Mac, neither do I have access to one but on a PC I'd estimate 1gig will transfer in about 15-20 minutes.
