I think first you have to purchase the pre-paid SIM, which is
$25 including $25 worth of credit on it for calls, then you have to
get the data separately.
@Jebbrilliant that's
how I thought they system worked, in terms of first purchasing the
SIM with credit and add the service. Now that I'm thinking about it
I might be wrong. I'll head into a store today and ask.
@Monadi That would be
great, let us know. Can you also check to see how long the sim
lasts with zero activity and if it's true 3G with no speed
limitations? I am also curious if you can drop it in a dongle and
plug it into your computer?
@Jeb. That would be my
ultimate use, dropping it in a data card and zipping away with it.
I'll check it out today and let u know. Thought at&t will say
you can't officially use it in a data card.
Bought a sim today. 3G is fast in some aspects and unimpressive
in others. Still the same old ATT, bars going up and down wildly
and even been without signal to full bars not even leaving the
room. Two blocks away I had no signal at all outdoors. Granted I'm
on UTMS only but still.

Guys, no comment on this yet? It's very good news coming from ATT.

Cool, will go to the US next month and this could just be my ticket for access. Any technical details available, i.e. which APN to use?

The question is is if ATT will kill the sim if it's unused for a certain period of time.

@Monadi if it comes with $ on it then why should we have to bed more? Or can we use it to make calls also. At a higher premium?

A fresh SIM is only good for 30 days unless you load money on it. The expiration after that depends on the amount you add.
